We camped, late notice. They were very accommodating. Lovely place, lovely people. Coober Pedy is amazing, and the Big 4 is a great base to explore from.
Loved it here, we stayed on the way back to vic and my partner and I had heard some stories going about the town but this big 4 had the most pleasant reception, cleanliness of facilities, friendly staff, accommodating to being new with towing first timers and by lord were the couple next to us so friendly. The couple next door made us a fantastic dinner to welcome and even checked in on us when the storm hit. I'll never forget the memories made here.
WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN! NO POOL and lots of broken bits. One amenities block with 1 shower and 2 toilet were out of order. In the kitchen one of the two stoves were broken and the hot water was out of order. The park has a lot of holes were it looks like they are doing maintenance but after speaking other travellers these holes have been there since last year. This park really needs some repairs. Big 4 price without big 4 quality.
We have always found this to be a good place to stay on the Stuart Hwy, very convenient. The facilities are extremely clean and well appointed and the small fee paid for water, which is obviously in short supply, is good value.The sites are generally spacious and easy to get in and out of, but you do need to get in early for the best choices.The onsite pizza restaurant is a bonus!The only small criticism I have is that you have to use a bucket under your van to collect drainage and there is nowhere to empty it near your van.
We returned after a twenty year absence to find a fantastic new facility with the friendliest staff, what a treat. Who cares if you have to pay for water, the showers were very clean the grounds as good as possible.two weeks later we are back again and welcomed like family. We will come back and not such a break in between.Thank you to everyone.
